The Soul of the Brush

Japanese calligraphy, or Shodo, is a discipline of presence where the motion of the brush captures the energy of a single, unrepeatable moment.

For me, the brush is a conduit for ichigo ichie, the philosophy that no two encounters are ever the same. This exploration delves into the history, the meditative practice, and the aesthetic that allows the true essence of the message to emerge through ink.
